Hello Gals,

I improved the comment posting function of this site so you no longer have to enter a passcode to leave comments - nor risk loosing your diatribe (Woodson) ever again.

We have a new countdown clock on the front page and active helpful links.  Finally, we improved the Itinerary map to help you get to the exact location of an event. Hope they help!

Chin chin!

Good morning,

The invitations have been ordered! I put a rush on the order just in case something absurd happened, like I spelled Tibbetts wrong or actually keyed in "Mumbling Pines" for the wedding location. The invites should be in any day now. Very exciting!

Seeing as how Madeline and Brian will probably be of little use in the assembly, would anyone be interested in coming over some weekend night in June and helping me put them together? Perhaps some wine, some fun music, we'll sit out on the porch, and be ridiculous.

The target date to have the addressed invites in the mail is July 12 -- but I'd like to have the invitations assembled, stamped and collecting dust before that.

Let me know if you're interested -- once the invitations arrive, I'll throw out some assembly dates to see if anyone wants to help!

Ciao for now...

G'morning...

As I sipped my sugary morning coffee, it dawned on me that I had yet to declare the official wedding colors. Probably a good idea for planning purposes and hair dying, eh? (harhar)

Right. The color scheme is...

  • Midnight Blue
  • Sky Blue
  • Ivory
  • Ivory and Blue Hydrangeas.

With the Whispering Pines having a lot of ...trees and stuff, I'd like to keep things as organic, warm, and simple as possible -- but still elegant too! So make sure your platform shoes have only fringe and bows, and no tinsel.

heh.

Welp. Brian and I tried to secure a bagpiper to play at the wedding, just prior to the start of the ceremony so that folks would be alerted that the wedding was starting soon -- and to greet folks who were just arriving. Come to find out the Northeast Bagpipers Competition is the weekend of our wedding! The bagpiper referred to us can't come, and he said that he can't refer anyone either cos everyone he knows will be at the competition.

Drag!

Anyone have any ideas on what we could have to herald our loved ones to gather at the ceremony site?

Although details are not finalized with Brian's parents, everyone should keep in mind that they should head on down to the Whispering Pines Friday afternoon for the wedding rehearsal, which will start about 5 or 5:30pm. Plan on traffic! Plan on it taking awhile! Plan on the drive down sucking! Fill your gas tank and bring a good cd!!

Dinner will follow... I'll share the scoop on dinner once the details are finalized.

So, to reiterate: plan on heading to Whispering Pines, on Friday, August 29 for a 5ish rehearsal--and give yourself plenty of time to get there to avoid heinous traffic!

ciao,

m

Attention Gals!

FYI -- Everyone should plan on wearing midnight satin sandals/heels of some kind to match the body of the chiffon dress. No silver! No no no. Must be dahk blue.

Later gaters,

Howdy! So...figuring out flowers was prolly the most stressful confusing daunting aspect of the planning process so far. Whoodathunkit.

Good news, tho! Your bouquets will be Sky Blue Hydrangeas!  (like on this site over there --->) with Light Blue Satin wrapped around the stems. Gorgeous. And the boys will have hydrangea boo-tun-ears. Nice.

Centerpieces will likely be a couple of hydrangea stems in some kind of bucket or vase. Easy peasy & cheap.

Very glad to be done with the flower part. Ugh.

Next to tackle--invites & rings...
