All,
Jodi told me about this place - http://www.shoestodyefor.com/
They can pretty much dye any style of shoe you desire in about a week give or take (Jodi, please correct me if I misspeak).
They're in Natick!

Hi!
The Pines chef contacted me this week and asked that we come up with the reception menu. Just so you know and can share with others, here's what I'm thinking. Please read and comment on any thoughts or concerns or ideas or jokes you may have. I have most definitely not considered everything so your feedback would be most appreciated. Grassyass.
Appetizers will include of course scallaps & bacon, cheese and crackers and fruit, some kind of philo treat, chicken snackie doodads (tenders? satay? something like that), and some kind of veggie thing. Dinner will likely be a salad, rolls, wine, chicken saltimbocca and rosemary garlic rubbed steak (we're having double entree, so there's no choosing! isn't that wonderful?! "and they rejoiced...yaaaaaay"), and a starch and a veggie. Of course vegetarians will not be fed and will be asked to leave. JK. Har har. The Pines chef said not to worry about vegetarians, they have pasta dishes waiting in the wings for the PITA Peeps.
Dessert will be cake. Not sure if I'll do those itty bitty little desserts, if it costs a lot extra, then no. Btw, my brother in-law, Cathy's husband Jim is making the cake. And I cannot WAIT to see previews and do taste testing. Mmmmm. I'm not even a cake person, but I'm wicked excited about that.
Does that sound good? Oh! And for wine at dinner, we'll have Penfolds Shiraz and the Savignon Blanc that we taste tested at the wine tasting at Whispering Pines -- thanks again for helping choose them. They were so good! And the Wine Tasting was a blast!
That's all for now. Let me know what you think. Plenty of time to finalize the menu, but I do plan on getting back to the Pines chef shortly.
Ever truly yours,

Just as a head's up, each of us should plan to bring a cooler filled with assorted goodies for pre and post wedding fun. This means, pack whatever makes you happy and you think may make others happy -- in that making others happy makes you happy -- cos if you're happy, then I'm happy, and rumor has it that if I'm happy, well, that's the name of the game. Other names of the game are "pace yourself", "keep it loose and groovy", and of course, the "always remember to have a really good time." (I think John Cusack said that in The Sure Thing--btw, Woodson, are you in charge of bringing the movies!???!? Are you bringing Sixteen Candles? Mahhhhdeeeeed? Mahhhddeeeeeeeed....) Yes yes, those are allllll names of the game for the weekend (and beyond). But seriously, making me happy is the like, the fonzie of game names. So, that being longwindedly said, be happy, make others happy, have fun, be loose and groovy, pace yourself, and bring a cooler of crap. Which could be anything from water, gatorade, soda, cookies, ring dings, twinkies, salt & vinegar chips, microwaveable salty frozen treats that will burn the roof of our mouths at 3am (ahem, Kathleen, I got to call you out on having that responsibility too!) pretzels, tea, cheese, popcorn (mmmmm), and of course, booze. (Did you think I was going to say "bacon?")
Remember we have 2 bonfires to play at, and mostly all of Saturday day full of idleness and readiness. The Pines will be feeding us all our major meals, but munchies and nerves do happen.
So. To recap: Cooler. Bring It. Fill it.
and yeah, have fun, pace yourself, etc etc etc...

Hello Gals,
I improved the comment posting function of this site so you no longer have to enter a passcode to leave comments - nor risk loosing your diatribe (Woodson) ever again.
We have a new countdown clock on the front page and active helpful links. Finally, we improved the Itinerary map to help you get to the exact location of an event. Hope they help!
Chin chin!

Good morning,
The invitations have been ordered! I put a rush on the order just in case something absurd happened, like I spelled Tibbetts wrong or actually keyed in "Mumbling Pines" for the wedding location. The invites should be in any day now. Very exciting!
Seeing as how Madeline and Brian will probably be of little use in the assembly, would anyone be interested in coming over some weekend night in June and helping me put them together? Perhaps some wine, some fun music, we'll sit out on the porch, and be ridiculous.
The target date to have the addressed invites in the mail is July 12 -- but I'd like to have the invitations assembled, stamped and collecting dust before that.
Let me know if you're interested -- once the invitations arrive, I'll throw out some assembly dates to see if anyone wants to help!
Ciao for now...

G'morning...
As I sipped my sugary morning coffee, it dawned on me that I had yet to declare the official wedding colors. Probably a good idea for planning purposes and hair dying, eh? (harhar)
Right. The color scheme is...
- Midnight Blue
- Sky Blue
- Ivory
- Ivory and Blue Hydrangeas.
With the Whispering Pines having a lot of ...trees and stuff, I'd like to keep things as organic, warm, and simple as possible -- but still elegant too! So make sure your platform shoes have only fringe and bows, and no tinsel.
heh.

Welp. Brian and I tried to secure a bagpiper to play at the wedding, just prior to the start of the ceremony so that folks would be alerted that the wedding was starting soon -- and to greet folks who were just arriving. Come to find out the Northeast Bagpipers Competition is the weekend of our wedding! The bagpiper referred to us can't come, and he said that he can't refer anyone either cos everyone he knows will be at the competition.
Drag!
Anyone have any ideas on what we could have to herald our loved ones to gather at the ceremony site?
